Sunset Lodge offers Luxury Accommodation, Restaurant, Small Bush Weddings and Group Getaways in the Greater Kruger National Park, (Guernsey Private Nature Reserve) Hoedspruit, Limpopo. We are Gay Owned and Managed Lodge that promises guests a Unique Lodge & Venue for a Bush Experience in Kruger.
Custom designed packages are available including game drives and sightseeing excursions in the area. Transfers to activities are offered for those without their own transport.
If relaxing at the lodge is favoured, guests can enjoy an abundance of more than 320 bird species, some of which are endangered and only thrive in the area – known locally as “the Jewel of Africa".
Accommodation at Sunset Lodge in Hoedspruit
The majestic Drakensberg mountains provide a glorious backdrop to the lodge which comprises of 7 beautifully decorated private en-suite rooms:
One double twin with outside shower, three king rooms, and three twin rooms. All rooms lead out to the sparkling swimming pool. The rooms offer all the luxury amenities required to guarantee a comfortable stay. Each room features an en-suite bathroom. Four of the seven luxury rooms have full bathrooms with double basins.
Each luxurious double room has been decorated with artistic flair and the use of different shapes and colours lends a distinctly eclectic feel.
Tea and coffee are provided as well as hairdryers. A small safe has been installed in each room.

At our Restaurant set menus are served, often enjoyed while Zebras, Giraffes, Buffalo, Hyena and Impala come close to the restaurant where we serve good food by the Boma Fire or from our 2 Kitchens including the Fire Outside Kitchen with a Wood Burning Pizza Oven.
On the menu you will find meals for everyone including Vegan, Vegetarian or meals to satisfy those who agree with us that the BEST Steaks and Fillets are served in Africa!
Some exciting meals are enjoyed at The Bush Braai Area. We take a walk or Drive there and back afterwards.
Swimming Pool
The lodge pool is in the central courtyard of the lodge. Cool down after a long, busy day or spend a lazy day reclining on one of our pool loungers. Swimming towels are provided.
Guest Lounge
Retire to the lounge after dinner for coffee, or simply sit and read. Tea and coffee are available at all times. The lounge is also equipped with a 42″ plasma TV, for those who don’t want to miss a match of their favourite team.
Bar
Enjoy a sundowner in our superb bar, overlooking the bushveld. Relax on the spacious deck with a cocktail while you enjoy the spectacular view of the Drakensberg mountains, whilst keeping an eye out for a variety of game at the waterhole below. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds of the African bush, all the while sipping something cold...
We are fully licensed to serve the best that South Africa can offer in wines and other Craft Beers or Gins. We serve Gin that is produced in Hoedspruit and our craft beers are produced in our neighbouring town of Tzaneen.
Terms & Conditions
Luxury Accommodation rates include use of entire lodge facilities, DInner, Bed and Breakfast, 1 bushwalk and bush breakfast included in the accommodation rate.
