Kamerkloof Accommodation

The Landhuis is a historical landmark of Kamerkloof and the Baviaanskloof Hartland. The over 150-year-old Landhuis has fully been restored and its authentic interiors still display original oregon ceilings and floors: a beautifully restored historic building. The Landhuis has cleverly been designed into a two bedroom South Wing and a three bedroom North Wing. Each wing has it's own private kitchen, living and entertainment area with a patio. The Landhuis has several welcoming spaces, including an e-clear chlorine free swimming pool, maccaranduba wooden decks and a viewing deck on the sunny North face side of the house. The Baviaanskloof Landhuis is luxury accommodation and embodies farm-style good living in a place of harmony. The Landhuis is the proud and joy of Kamerkloof and its people.

Studtis Huis is a fully equipped private farmhouse suitable for individuals, families with young children and large groups of up to eighteen people. The house has five bedrooms. There are two master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a family room with an extra bedroom and a cleverly designed loft area, upstairs from the bedroom area. The family room with the loft area comfortably sleeps 12 people of all ages. The family room has an extra sleeper couch and two en-suite bathrooms with three showers and a bath.

The Olive Tree Cottage is accommodation located next to the main farmhouse or 'Hoofopstal'. The stand alone cottage is a gentle 200m walk or drive through one of the olive orchards from Studtis Huis and the Kamerkloof Heritage Centre. This fully equipped unit consists of a bedroom with a king-sized bed and one single bed in the living room. The unit is equipped for self-catering and features a kitchenette, living room and a bathroom with a separate bath and shower.

Wildedruifhuise is a newly restored cottage that is quaint and slightly up on the hillside with great views over the farm dam and sheep pastures. The Wildedruifhuisie is a cozy cottage with reeded ceilings and traditional Kamerkloof river stoned stoeps. The cottage is a four sleeper with two bedrooms. Activities

  • Hiking/Walking -  Guests are welcome to try the well-known hiking trails in the neighbourhood, Voetpadsekloof in Studtispoort or Damsekloof, and get to know the flora.
  • Off road -  There is a choice of trails in the kloof suitable for 4x4 vehicles or mountain bikes.
  • Rock climbing and kloofing -  A number of establishments offer opportunities for these energetic activities.
  • Donkey cart rides -  Take a donkey cart ride to the springs at Sewefontein and see the huge, gnarled, wild fig trees and feel yourself almost back in primaeval times.
  • Game farms -  One can arrange to visit a game farm in the kloof.
  • Bushman art -   If you are interested in the paintings left by the "Bushmen", there are several properties where such art can be seen by arrangement.
  • Enon conglomerate -  This rock formation, created when the mountains were eroded to their present height, makes for interest as do the woods of Euphorbia trees.
